About Us

Tashania M. Garner, M.Ed
With a deep passion for people, professional development, and progressive pathways, Tashania M. Garner, M.Ed. is an advocate for individual growth within culture driven environments. She is a graduate of Cambridge College where she attained her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and Master of Education in Counseling Psychology immediately afterwards. In true fashion, she is exceptionally talented in the Learner Theme (Clifton Strengths) wherein she has a tremendous desire to learn and improve continuously; accordingly, she is pursuing her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education from Columbus State University. As she challenges her own limits for learning, she also pushes the boundaries of learning as a community partner and campus administrator/leader. She is very active in the Brunswick community and participated with Leadership Coastal, Leadership Glynn, Glynn County Library Board of Trustees, Family Connections Board Member, Glynn County Schools GROW Camp (Guest Facilitator) and a NAMI Crisis Intervention Trainer (CIT). Additionally, she mentors and connects youth and young professionals in the community and helps to connect them to resources to help them pursue higher education opportunities. Her campus leadership life is just as inspiring as she mentors new professionals, teaches as an adjunct faculty member, chairs the JED Campus Committee, and serves on the Academic Appeals Committee, Honors Program Committee, Athletic Advisory Committee. In her current role as the Director of Student Well-Being and Support, she supervises staff and support services for over 3200 students at College of Coastal Georgia.

Tonya R. Coleman, Ed.D
While also a life-long learner, Tonya R. Coleman, Ed.D. is a proponent of best practices within process and protocol. She is a Valdosta State University graduate where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Administrative Services and Speech Language Pathology. As a graduate assistant in the Intramural/Recreation Department and the MBA Program, she completed her Master of Public Administration degree at Valdosta State University while serving two terms as a Governor's Intern at Lowndes County DFACS. After graduation, she continued in higher education at Gordon College (now Gordon State College) in student affairs/services. During this time, she was active in various administrative roles such as interim athletic director, vice president for student affairs and dean of students. In 2018, she obtained her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University and currently holds the position of director of student engagement at College of Coastal Georgia. As a learner in the system, she has also been active with committee and task force participation (Board of Regents VAWA Violence Against Women Act, Board of Regents Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and University System of Georgia Executive Leadership Institute-ELI 2022). With many interests, she is most committed to community causes and partnerships such as the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society-Relay for Life, Communities in Schools-Henry County Advisory Board, and Leadership Lamar which are near and dear to her heart.
